Can’t beat the price, if you know how to fix an overheating engine. $1750.

You know what it needs ;)
Yup, it needs head gaskets! It’s what makes a Subaru a Subaru
It will cost at least that much to replace them. I heard Fel-Pro makes a good set of head gaskets for these cars

That’s about $1,000 to much for a car that might need a new engine.

The only head gaskets to use on an ej25 are the newer OEM MLS ones. They’ve got it sorted now.

Almost definitely head gaskets but it’s weird they don’t mention a replacement water pump. You usually replace them with the timing belt service.

My daughter and her husband bought a Subaru and didn’t know what to look for and wound up needing head gaskets and then the 5th gear fork broke inside the transmission. So my son-in-law’s dad and my son-in-law’s brother-in-law did all of the work back in Utah and I paid for all of the parts and we got them back on the road.

Looks to be in nice condition. I’d find another engine for it rather than fool with the one that wants to overheat.
